To congratulate all CU 2019 graduates, Chulalongkorn University proudly presents “Congratulations”, an original short filmed produced under the concept, “the best gifts can come from the heart”. The film portrays how without money, the most memorable gifts can be given with just a little bit of thought and a touch of love. For several years, the University has been promoting an eco-friendly commencement day, especially by encouraging graduates and visitors to reduce waste and spend less on single-use gifts, such as flowers and balloons. More importantly this year, the university urges all participants to take physical distancing measures throughout the duration of the ceremony.
Directed by Chakree Roojivipat, “Congratulations” features honorary cast members from the CU Board of Executives, including Professor Parichart Sthapitanonda (Vice President for Academic Affairs and Social Outreach), Assistant Professor Pomthong Malakul Na Ayudhaya (Vice President for Administration, Arts and Culture Management), Assistant Professor Sarayut Supsook (Assistant to the President for Student Affairs), and Khun Kanyasorn Tansubhapol (Assistant to the President for Secretary and Special Affairs).
Chulalongkorn University has released two other original short films in the past, which received recognition two years in a row from the WINA World Independent Advertising Awards. “Life of Kwan” was awarded with “Honorable Mention” in the “Content” category in 2020, and “The Gift” received the “Bronze Award” from the “Digital Content for Education” and “Honorable Mention” in “Film: Public Services Campaigns, Civic Campaigns and Social Campaigns” in 2019.
