Thai Red Cross Society’s Organ Donation: A Merit for Givers and New Lives for Recipients

Thailand is in need of organ donors.  Unfortunately, the need for organ donation is much higher than the number of actual organ donors.  In 2019, only 10.7 percent of patients on the waiting list received organ transplants.  While many suffer waiting for the organs, some pass away before ever receiving an organ transplant.

To help make the organ donation procedure simple, the Thai Red Cross Society’s Organ Donation Center has created an online Organ Donation Application (บริจาคอวัยวะ) to facilitate people wishing to pledge their organs to give life to others.  The online donation also ensures a more timely organ transplant from donors to patients, especially for critical organ failures, such as the heart, lungs, liver, and kidney.
