Chula Visits the University of Queensland to Strengthen Academic Ties

The executive team of Chulalongkorn University, led by Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, visited The University of Queensland to strengthen academic collaboration and further deepen the relationship between the two institutions. 

During the visit, the Chulalongkorn delegation received a warm welcome from Prof. Deborah Terry, Vice-Chancellor and President, along with representatives from Global Partnerships and various faculties of the University of Queensland. Both institutions exchanged views and discussed avenues for cooperation in academic exchange, research, and the development of international partnerships.

Representatives from both universities also participated in a signing ceremony for academic cooperation agreements between the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Chulalongkorn University and the University of Queensland. The agreements aim to promote future collaboration in education, research, and academic development. Following the signing ceremony, commemorative gifts were exchanged, and representatives from both institutions took group photographs together. 

The ceremony was witnessed by Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Canberra, together with Ms. Chearanai Ratanavaraha Field, Honorary Consul of Thailand in Brisbane, Queensland, and Mr. Pitchaya Sonjai, advisor to the Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra

The Chulalongkorn executive delegation also joined academic discussions in various disciplines and toured faculties and departments at the University of Queensland, including engineering, health sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, psychology, humanities, liberal arts, social sciences, education, sustainability, and energy research. They also visited academic facilities and research centers at the university. 

In addition, a networking lunch was organized to provide executives from both institutions with an opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss ways to expand institutional collaboration, and explore new opportunities for future partnerships. 

This visit to the University of Queensland forms part of Chulalongkorn University’s mission to build collaborative networks with leading universities around the world. It reflects the university’s commitment to advancing internationalization, fostering innovation, and developing sustainable global research partnerships for mutual benefit.
