Former Chula President Appointed Chairman of Synchrotron Light Research Institute Board 

Chulalongkorn University extends its heartfelt congratulations to Prof. Dr. Bundhit Eua-arporn, former President of Chulalongkorn University, on the occasion of his appointment by Cabinet resolution, as proposed by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation, to serve as Chairman of the Board of Qualified Experts of the Synchrotron Light Research Institute. The appointment takes effect from 2 June 2026 onward. 

The Synchrotron Light Research Institute (Public Organization), under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI), is one of only two institutions in Southeast Asia capable of conducting research and producing synchrotron light, the other being in Singapore. As Chairman of the Board of Qualified Experts, Prof. Dr. Bundhit will oversee the governance and administration of the institute in its capacity as a public organization. His responsibilities include setting policies, formulating strategic plans, and guiding the institute’s operations to ensure alignment with the objectives and policies of MHESI.
