Chula Welcomes Delegates from The University of Melbourne to Discuss Further Academic and Research Collaboration
After a recent visit by Chulalongkorn University’s administrative team, led by Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of the university, to the University of Melbourne, the two institutions have continued discussions to expand academic and research collaborations.
On May 27, 2026, at Chamchuri 10 Building, Chulalongkorn University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Palanee Ammaranond, Vice President for International Affairs and Global Network, represented Chulalongkorn University, along with deans and representatives of Chulalongkorn’s faculties and research institutes, in welcoming a delegation from the University of Melbourne. The delegation, led by Prof. Frank Vetere, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global), aimed to discuss avenues for expanding academic and institutional collaborations between the two universities.
On this occasion, the University of Melbourne delegates proposed a vision of promoting Asia-Pacific collaboration through long-term academic cooperation between the two institutions and student exchange support. In response, Chulalongkorn’s representatives presented the university’s operations in international affairs as well as possibilities for future cooperation, such as student exchanges, interdisciplinary collaboration, and joint research initiatives.
In addition, the two universities shared their experiences on developing double-degree programs and discussed approaches to promote student support, academic collaboration, and international learning opportunities. The discussion reflected the shared intentions to foster global cooperation and introduce opportunities for students, researchers, and faculty of both universities.
