Professor Dr. Suchada Sukrong Appointed to the Senate Committee on Science and Technology
Chulalongkorn University extends its warmest congratulations to Professor Dr. Suchada Sukrong, a faculty member in the Department of Pharmacognosy and Pharmaceutical Botany, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Director of the Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation Institute (CSII), on her appointment as a member of the Senate Committee on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development. The appointment was made under Senate Order No. 26/2569, dated June 12, 2026.
This committee was established to advance the Senate’s sustainable development agenda in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in addressing major challenges. Its responsibilities include:
- Developing guidelines for the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.
- Recommending improvements to workplace environments.
- Addressing climate change issues.
- Reducing pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.
- Promoting effective energy management.
- Conserving and protecting the environment.
- Encouraging hygiene and food safety initiatives to support good health within the Senate.
The committee aims to support sustainable development efforts through science, technology, innovation, and evidence-based policy initiatives.
