Chula’s Short Film “Mom Goes to School” Wins Two WINA Awards 2026 for Inspiring Lifelong Learning 

The short film “Mom Goes to School” (No More Excuses to Skip Learning), a creative production by the Chulalongkorn University Communication Center, has won two awards at the WINA Awards 2026, an international competition recognizing excellence in advertising and creative communications. The film received Honorable Mention awards in the Better World and Content categories. The awards ceremony was held in Miami, USA (MIAMI | SANTIAGO 2026). 

The film promotes the concept of lifelong learning under the message, “Everyone can continue to grow as long as they never stop learning.” 

Through a simple, engaging, and relatable story, the film uses a role-reversal narrative between a mother and her child. One morning, the child is the one waking up and encouraging the mother to go to “school,” while the mother comes up with every excuse imaginable to avoid attending a training course—claiming she’s sick, too old, graduated long ago, or simply too busy. 

The story reaches its turning point when the child reminds the mother of the advice she always gave: “Study hard so you won’t have to struggle in life.” 

The child then asks why, now that learning opportunities have finally reached their community, the mother is refusing them. The situation changes when a representative from Chulalongkorn University explains that the cocoa cultivation course is completely free of charge. Encouraged by this, the mother decides to give learning another chance. 

The film concludes with a powerful message: Learning never ends, and no one is ever too old to start learning something new.
