Chula XL Partners with Thewphaingarm School and Canadian International School to Promote Lifelong Learning

Chulalongkorn University’s College of Extension and Lifelong Learning for the People has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on academic cooperation with Thewphaingarm School and the Canadian International School of Thailand. The partnership aims to promote cooperation in educational management, curriculum development, and lifelong learning.

The MOU was signed on September 1, 2026, at Canadian International School of Thailand by Prof. Dr. Polkit Sangvanich, Dean of the College of Extension and Lifelong Learning for the People and authorized representative of the President of Chulalongkorn University, and Dr. Nattakrit Thewphaingarm, representative of the licensee of the two schools under the Thewphaingarm group.
The collaboration focuses on the development and delivery of non-degree programs and micro-credentials under the Chula Credit Bank system, as well as reskilling/upskilling programs and interdisciplinary courses. It will also include joint development of educational media, learning formats, and support systems for lifelong learning.
Under the partnership, Chula XL will jointly develop and manage academic programs, as well as the Lifelong Learning Ecosystem and Learning Portfolio, to support learners’ continuous development. Meanwhile, Thewphaingarm School and Canadian International School of Thailand will serve as pilot educational institutions for implementing Learning ID and the Lifelong Credit Bank, supporting the accumulation and recognition of learning outcomes and encouraging lifelong learning.
Another key aspect of the collaboration is to provide secondary school students with opportunities to access university-level learning and accumulate learning outcomes that can later be applied toward higher education. This will give students greater flexibility in planning and developing their own learning pathways.
This partnership therefore serves as a pilot model for connecting learning between schools and universities. Both parties will work together to develop curricula and learning formats that are appropriate for learners, while using their experiences from the initiative to further strengthen their collaboration in lifelong learning.
The College of Lifelong Learning, Chulalongkorn University (Chula XL) is responsible for promoting and expanding lifelong learning opportunities for the public. It connects knowledge and expertise from various faculties and academic units across Chulalongkorn University and develops them into diverse curricula and learning formats, enabling learners to continuously access and develop their knowledge and skills throughout their lives.
