Chulada Choir of CUD Wins Gold Medal at 14th World Choir Games in Sweden
Chulalongkorn University congratulates the Chulada Choir of Chulalongkorn University Demonstration Secondary School on winning the gold medal in the Youth Choirs of Equal Voices category and the silver medal in the Sacred Choral Music a Cappella category at the 14th World Choir Games, held from August 10–16, 2026, in Helsingborg, Sweden.
This victory marks a new chapter in the history of Thailand’s choral music scene, as the Chulada Choir is the first secondary school choir from Thailand to win a gold medal at the World Choir Games. The achievement reflects the potential, dedication, and musical skills of Thai youth, demonstrating their ability to perform at an international level.
The World Choir Games is an Olympic-level international choral competition held every two years, with hosts chaning among countries around the world. Hundreds of choirs participate in each event, making it one of the most prestigious competitions in the global choral music community.
Following the World Choir Games 2026, the Chulada Choir continued its role as an ambassador of Thai culture by holding a special concert in Stockholm, Sweden.
The concert, titled “Stjärnljus – Chulada Choir Live in Stockholm,” was held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Sophia Church in Stockholm. The event received a warm welcome from audiences and the Thai community in Sweden, with support from the Royal Thai Embassy in Stockholm.
