Chulalongkorn University Announcement
With reference to the Chulalongkorn University Announcement regarding the Extension of Temporary Closure of Offices, Class Management and General Operations during the Spread of the COVID-19 Outbreak (No.6) dated July 26, 2021 resulting in an extension of the temporary closure of its workplaces in and outside the Bangkok Metropolis until September 5, 2021;
Due to the intensified situation concerning the spread of the COVID-19 virus is stable and tends to decrease, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration released the BMA Announcement on Temporary Closure of Premises (No. 41) dated August 26, 2021 that the buildings and places in schools or all types of educational institutes can be used for learning, teaching, examination, training, or organizing any activities with large number of attendees. Representatives from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, or other relating agencies in the responsible area and the BMA Communicable Diseases Committee, shall together consider the necessity and implementation in compliance with disease prevention measures prescribed by the Government as well as the appropriateness for the state of the said area and situation in the responsible area.The said necessity and implementation shall comply with the criteria prescribed by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation and the Ministry of Public Health. To prevent the spread of the virus as well as to lessen the risks of COVID-19 infections for its students and staff members as well as to ensure uninterrupted and efficient operations of the university during the time that the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation is to release its announcement according to the BMA Announcement;
By virtue of Section 27 and Section 32 of the Chulalongkorn University Act B.E. 2551 it is deemed appropriate to issue the following announcement:
Clause 1. To extend the period of closure of the workplaces within and outside the Bangkok Metropolis from September 6, 2021 to October 3, 2021.
Clause 2. Class management and operations during the said period shall continue to be in accordance with the Chulalongkorn University Announcement regarding Extension of Temporary Closure of Offices, Class Management and General Operations during the Spread of the COVID-19 Outbreak (No.5) dated July 10, 2021.
Clause 3. Staff members and students who are directed or permitted to enter the University campus area or to be able to reside in a university lodging must have been received vaccines specified by the government or that which has have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration, whichever one applies and that staff member or student in question must have been inoculated for a duration of no less than 14 days.
Clause 4. As the situation COVID-19 outbreak is intensify and a large number of persons are infected the University expresses its concern for all its students and staff members and urges them to take extra precautions and to refrain from any unnecessary travel. In cases where they begin to show symptoms or suspect they might have contracted COVID-19 they should contact the University so that assistance may be provided accordingly.
This announcement shall be taken into effect from now on and if the situation changes or the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation releases its announcement according to the BMA Announcement, an announcement will be made by the University.
