Chula Halal Science Center Welcomes Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Thailand

On Thursday, 11 November 2021, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Winai Dahlan, Director of Halal Science Center Chulalongkorn University, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pakorn Priyakorn, Director of the Halal Standard Institute of Thailand, Mr. Prachaya Chimvises, Deputy Director, Dr. Pornpimol Mahamad and Dr. Arnat Denyingyhot welcomed H.E. Mr. Issa Abdullah Jaber Al-Alawi, the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Thailand on the occasion of his new role and visit to the Chula Halal Science Center at the Chula Research Building.

During the visit, members of the Chula Halal Science Center and the Halal Standard Institute of Thailand presented information about Halal in Thailand.  Following discussions with Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha in March, the Thai government had requested the Oman government to certify and recognize Thailand’s Halal Certification.  Such recognition will promote and encourage Thai Halal goods and product exports to Oman in the future.

The Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Thailand complimented on the Halal information presentation and was impressed with how advanced the Halal Forensic Laboratory at the Halal Science Center was, in supporting Thailand’s Halal Certification.

The sense of kinship and warmth found in the Chula community is priceless and a treasure worth keeping.

Prof. Dr. Pornanong Aramwit Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chulalongkorn University
