About
The Professor Kasin Suvatsbundhu Herbarium at Chulalongkorn University, located within the Department of Botany, Faculty of Science, serves as a repository of plant specimens from Thailand and abroad to support the study, research, and conservation of plant biodiversity.
The museum was established as a memorial to Professor Kasin Suvatsbundhu, a botanist who dedicated his life to plant taxonomy. It houses more than 20,000 plant specimens, including fruits, leaves, seeds, and other samples, that are vital for botanical research and applications in related fields of plant science.
In addition, the museum provides services for analyzing and scientifically identifying plant specimens. This work supports research into important compounds for the pharmaceutical industry and assists with the inspection of confiscated plants for customs and forensic work.
