Launched in 2005, The Bachelor of Science in Applied Chemistry (International Program) (BSAC) program emphasizes on the integrated chemistry education by applying theoretical chemistry concepts to practical applications and to the challenges posed by the needs of local and international business. BSAC program was created to meet increasing needs for chemists with English language proficiency, understanding of market needs and knowledge about the business world in order to help develop successful products and solutions for the real world.
Three excellent and innovative areas in applied chemistry program are offered by the program: Industrial Chemistry and Management, Materials Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry and Cosmetic Chemistry and Entrepreneurship.
Designed for future technical managers of chemical-related industries and businesses. The program balances scientific knowledge with practical aspects of finance, management, and accounting under the perspectives of international quality systems.
Designed for undergraduates who want to obtain a deep knowledge in materials science which is a key to the advancement of the economy and current social issues.
Created for students with an aim for a career in the field of environmental evaluation and risk assessment. The curriculum focuses on a basis of analytical chemistry with special emphasis on environmental chemistry courses and research projects.
Designed for students who want to immerse themselves in the world of cosmetics with an aim for a career as an entrepreneur. The program balances chemistry concepts and strategies to create finished products to conform to customers needs with classes of business and marketing.
Chulalongkorn University Ranked No.1 in Thailand for Chemistry from the 2021 QS rankings by subject and the 2021 U.S. News and World Report Education rankings.
Chulalongkorn University’s Department of Chemistry (CU-CHEM) has been ranked in the #201 – 250 band of the world’s best universities for chemistry from the 2021 QS World University Rankings by Subject. The ranking was based on factors such as Academic reputation, Employer reputation, Research citations per paper, and H-index.
CU-CHEM received very good scores in terms of Research citations per paper and impressive scores for Employer Reputation. Moreover, CU-CHEM is still the top university in Thailand.CU-CHEM was also ranked 267th in the world (Only 1 Thai varsity in the list) by the 2021 U.S. News and World Report Education rankings. While pursuing their area studies, students get to participate in Interactive Science and Social Project (ISSP) where, in great learning environment, students work as a team addressing real world problems with applications in chemistry and come to understand how to maintain a balance between technology, society, and human needs.

It is mandatory and designed to supplement and enrich the undergraduate education. This is an opportunity for students to apply their classroom knowledge and theoretical concepts to real-world situations.
BSAC graduates can become chemists, and researchers working in laboratories both locally and internationally. Other career paths include teaching, new product development for industries, managers in manufacturing industries, Environmental Management, etc.
1.1 Applicants must submit all of the following three documents in which at least 2 out of 3 score results must meet the requirements.
1.1.1 Applicants must achieve the prescribed minimum score in any one of the following English Proficiency tests:
1.1.2 Applicants must achieve the prescribed minimum score in any one of the following Mathematics tests:
1.1.3 Applicants must achieve the prescribed minimum score in any one of the following Science tests:
1.2 Applicants who meet only 2 out of the 3 requirements from item 1.1 are still required to achieve a minimum score in item 1.2:
1.2.1 Applicants must achieve the prescribed minimum score in any one of the following English Proficiency tests:
1.2.2 Applicants must achieve the prescribed minimum score in any one of the following Mathematics tests:
1.2.3 Applicants must achieve the prescribed minimum score in any one of the following Science tests:
The official score reports of the tests in 1.1.1, 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 or 1.2.1, 1.2.2 and 1.2.3 are valid only if the tests were taken no more than two years prior to the application deadline.
3. Have good behavior and be willing to comply with the rules and codes of Chulalongkorn University.
Applicants must pay the application fee in cash directly at any branch of the Siam Commercial Bank. Payment must be accompanied by the Payment Form and made within the payment period specified. After making payment, students must keep the “For Applicant” section of payment form, submit a copy of this section with the Application Form to the BSAC International Office. The receipts will be issued and given on the day of interview.
Applicants must submit the required documents with the complete application form as follows:
Incomplete application package will not be considered.
The Application Payment – 1,000 baht (US$30). Please note that, application fee is non-refundable in any circumstance.
