Overview
All industrial sectors and academic research communities such as biotechnology, agriculture, medicine, aerospace, automobile, entertainment, education, communication, etc. require research and knowledge of computer and information technologies as the supports to advance the products and new scientific discoveries.
The M.Sc. program in Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT) at Chulalongkorn University aims to produce knowledgeable graduates capable of supporting researches in the industries and academic communities. Many advanced courses in Computer Science and Information Technology covering and relating to various challenging areas such as artificial intelligence, data science, bioinformatics, neural computing, are offered.

Be a Part of Cutting-Edge Researches in CSIT
Our students will get to be a part of state-of-the-art researches in various advanced and emerging areas in CSIT, such as artificial intelligence, data science, bioinformatics, neural computing.
All research activities are conducted at different research laboratories of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. Students joining each laboratory may be awarded research scholarships from the available research grant of the laboratory.

Choose between Thesis or Master Project Options
Our master’s degree students can choose between two plans of study to suit their needs, i.e. a thesis option and a master project option. The former is suitable for students who wish to pursue an in-depth study towards the doctoral degree in CSIT. The latter, on the other hand, is a terminal degree designed specifically for students who wish to broaden the purview of CSIT knowledge for their careers in computer and other related industries.
For thesis option, students must take 24 credits of course work and 12 credits of thesis. But for master project option, students must take 30 credits of course work and 6 credits of project. One proceedings publication from the result of thesis or project must be accomplished before the graduation. Students are advised to join their potential advisors’ research groups within the first year of study. Furthermore, students will have an opportunity to join other domestic leading research groups in the cooperative research networks of 21 universities and also other foreign universities.

International Teaching-Learning Atmosphere in Fully Equipped Facilities
Besides having the opportunity to learn how the advanced research is done with internationally recognized faculty members in the program, students can access most international journals, proceedings, manuscripts indexed by various databases such as ISI and SCOPUS. Each student is provided with a desk and a personal computer during the study period. Wi-Fi connectivity and co-working spaces are also available throughout the campus which is conveniently located in the heart of Bangkok and surrounded by modern commercial facilities and accommodations accessible via public transportation.

Our M.Sc. graduates can pursue vast careers such as a researcher, software developer, data scientist, data engineer, IT teacher, computer network architect, web developer, IT project manager, and much more.
