The Bachelor of Arts Program in Politics and Global Studies (PGS) is an international program offered by the Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University in collaboration with the University of Essex, United Kingdom, and University of Queensland in Australia. Students studying in this program will be awarded Double Degrees, one from Chulalongkorn University, and another from one of our partner institutions. The program was officially launched in late 2019 for 2020 entry.
PGS is a multidisciplinary and multi-sited educational program designed to prepare and equip young generation to become world committed population and change-makers. Our multidisciplinary approach exposes students to diverse ways of thinking, researching, and understanding global politics and social complexities. Beyond providing information and skills, PGS is focused on developing inspiration through an enjoyable and personalized learning environment.
The tripartite motto: Knowledge, Inspiration and Commitment well reflects our philosophy, aim and approach to education. We hope to build up a cohort of committed leaders ready to design and create their own sustainable future.
While double-degree programs are becoming popular, PGS is the first of its kind in Thailand to offer various tracks with different partner universities. PGS offers multidisciplinary and specialized courses through international curriculum collaboration.
Spend two years abroad and two years at Chulalongkorn University, and receive a Bachelor’s Degree from each – 4 years, 2 degrees.
Diverse university options means more personalization! Choose the program that fits best with your interests – both academic and personal. Our modules cover philosophy, politics, public policy, sociology, anthropology, international relations as well as issue-based and academic skill development.
Our program focuses on current and emerging local-global phenomena. As we are preparing our students to become future leaders and change-makers, we encourage them to dive into series of current and entangled issues as well as to prepare for their future scenarios. PGS provides students with hand-on and practical experience. Students will learn first-hand from their research and senior projects. They will also be exposed to a wide-ranged of lecturers, alumni, specialists and practitioners from our partner organizations.
Our graduates are equipped with a variety of knowledge and skills, covering political philosophy, public policy, international relations, sociology as well as issue-based and academic skill development on local and global levels. Applicants must have completed high school or passed an equivalent high school standard test or be currently in their final year of high school (Grade 12 in the US system or year 13 in the British system), with a minimum GPAX of 3.00, or its equivalent levels according to the criteria set by Chulalongkorn University.
