The Sustainable Environment Research Institute of Chulalongkorn University, is a leading institution in environmental research and innovation, aiming to drive knowledge for natural resource management and sustainable environmental development. It conducts integrated research to create knowledge and innovations that address the needs of present and future societal development.
The institute has developed into a leading academic resource for studying the relationship between humans and the environment. It plays a role in creating knowledge for the prevention, mitigation, and reduction of environmental impacts, coupled with the conservation and development of resources, in order to improve the quality of life for Thai society.
Its operations encompass knowledge transfer, personnel development, and the establishment of national and international collaborative networks. It focuses on research in key areas such as climate change risk assessment and adaptation (CRR), environmental innovation based on the BCG (Bio-Circular-Green) model (BCG-EI), pollution and risk management (PRM), green city management (GreenUM), and water and soil pollution management (WSPM), aiming to drive sustainable environmental development across all dimensions.
