Chula Hosts IPTRS 2026, Advancing Global Collaboration in Physical Therapy

The Department of Physical Therapy, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Chulalongkorn University, served as the main host of the international academic conference, the 12th International Physical Therapy Research Symposium 2026 (IPTRS 2026), under the theme “Bridging Science and Movement for a Healthier Tomorrow.” The event took place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Room 801, 60th Anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Building (Chamchuri 10), with Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, presiding over the opening ceremony.
The symposium was co-hosted by 12 leading physical therapy institutions and attracted a large number of faculty members, researchers, students, and physical therapists from various institutions both in Thailand and internationally.
The event featured distinguished plenary speakers, including Prof. Wei-Li Hsu from National Taiwan University, Assoc. Prof. Tsuyoshi Asai from Kansai Medical University, and Associate Professor Dr. Akkharadet Siriphorn, Head of the Department of Physical Therapy, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Chulalongkorn University.
A total of 47 research studies were presented in both poster and oral formats, covering a wide range of rigorous and diverse topics. Awards were presented to outstanding research contributions in both categories.
In addition, students from the Department of Physical Therapy, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Chulalongkorn University, achieved notable success at this international forum, receiving the following awards:

- Outstanding: Ms. Benja Songsangrit
Oral Presentation Awards
- First Place: Mr. Siraphit Manakhantikoon
- Outstanding: Ms. Supattra Chaiboon, Ms. Kobthong Meecharn
- Honorable Mention: Ms. Charinya Kraisalee, Mr. Patipan Koetnunwong









The organization of IPTRS 2026 marks another significant milestone for the Department of Physical Therapy, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Chulalongkorn University, in establishing itself as a global hub for knowledge exchange in physical therapy. It also reinforces its commitment to fostering academic collaboration and advancing sustainable innovation in health sciences for the future.
