The Chula Zero Waste program is a joint effort between Chulalongkorn University’s Environmental Research Institute, Physical Resources Management Office, and the network of CU faculty and students to reduce the amount of waste on campus to zero.  This determination confirms CU’s commitment to be a sustainable, or “green” university, focused on taking action through the cooperation with members of the CU community.

The program involves the 3Rs concept of reduce, reuse, and recycle.  Moreover, it strives to eliminate the creation of waste in the first place and has implemented several strategies, such as reducing the use of plastic bags at various cooperating stores on and near the campus by encouraging CU community members to carry cloth bags or reused bags.
