Chula Signs an Academic Collaboration Agreement with GPO

On Thursday January 19, 2023, Prof. Dr. Bundhit Eua-arporn, President of Chulalongkorn University, signed an academic collaboration agreement between the Government Pharmaceutical Organization (GPO), Chulalongkorn University, Mahidol University, and the Health Systems Research Institute to conduct research involving clinical, pharmacokinetic, and pharmacogenetic studies of the medicine Deferasirox manufactured by GPO, at Meeting Room 1, 4^th Floor, Administrative Building, Government Pharmaceutical Organization. The project aims to study the efficacy of Deferasirox, safety data, quality of life of transfusion dependent and non-transfusion dependent thalassemia patients with hemochromatosis, genetic and clinical factors and their correlation to responsiveness to the medicine and/or the level of the medicine in plasma, as well as pharmacokinetics and the development of physiologically-based pharmacokinetics (PBPK) model to estimate the level of medication in patients’ blood.
