“City Escape: A Celestial Journey” Exhibition

CityEscape exhibition

The natural environment is a source of happiness and healing for humans. With the busy and stressful city life, many city dwellers seek happiness and repose with leisure activities that help them reconnect with nature.

The Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with Siam Commercial Bank Public Company Limited, SCG Foundation, and the Bangkok Art and Culture Center, cordially invite all to a solo exhibition of paintings, “City Escape: A Celestial Journey”, by Asst. Prof. Dr. Apichat Ponprasert, Head of the Department of Art, Music and Dance Education, Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University. Prof. Emeritus Preecha Thaothong, National Artist, presided over the opening ceremony of the exhibition on Wednesday, 5 April 2023.

The exhibition includes a variety of realistic and abstract works in oil, acrylic, chalk, gouache, and watercolor that portray the experience of escaping the city to appreciate the beauty of nature, whether by actually traveling to various places in different parts of the country and the world or by using one’s imagination and mind power to travel to faraway places (a.k.a. “Thiew Thip” in Thai).

The “City Escape: A Celestial Journey” Exhibition is on show at the 3rd floor, the Bangkok Art and Culture Center (BACC) until April 30, 2023, from 10.00 A.M. to 8.00 P.M.

The sense of kinship and warmth found in the Chula community is priceless and a treasure worth keeping.
