Save Energy – Ride CU Bike

What on campus transportation is faster than walking and 100% environmentally friendly? Chula Zero Waste introduces the CU Bike — a transportation option that will not only save time and energy, but also reduces pollution and carbon dioxide emission.

Inspired by Bangkok’s first full-scale bicycle sharing system, “Pun Pun”, the university has teamed up with the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority to develop an on-campus bike sharing system that encourages students to cycle on campus.  Solar-powered docking systems are stationed around campus and the bikes have power boxes that generate electricity with each cycling rotation. The front and rear lights are powered when pedaled to ensure road safety and the bikes have been designed with a fork lock technology for security.  The CU bike sharing system is the first of its kind among University campuses in Thailand.

Let CU Bike take you to your destination quicker, while staying fit and being responsible to the environment. The bikes are hassle-free, fuel-free, and the best part – rent free.

For details on how to rent a CU Bike or register, visit www.cubike-chula.com. Membership cards can be picked up at the Control & Maintenance Center, Mahittalathibet Building, Floor 1, Chulalongkorn University.

Give CU Bike a try to help reduce energy. Together, we can be green.

Chula’s encouragement and support for research is excellent for teachers, students, and the public.
