Concept:
“Thainess” is often understood as Thai techniques, traditions or beliefs that are passed on from one generation to another. Another definition of the term is characterized by the attitude of Thai people – the adaptability, hospitality, gentleness, and use of flowery language towards others. Extremely similar to this is Thai art. It is remarkable how works of art can originate from the absorption of the passage of time, experiences, and feelings in an artist’s life.
THAIJA is a project established by a group of professors and artists from different institutes and backgrounds with the same goal to share their memories and experiences through art. The aim is to contribute knowledge, crafts, and techniques, passing on the beauty of art to other individuals with a similar passion or interest. THAIJA is not only an exhibition of ancient, traditional art pieces but also an art showcase that reflects the Thai way of thinking and life through different perspective and worldliness of the artists.
THAIJA encourages artists to remember their roots and explore deep into their souls to express their story through art in various styles and techniques. Whether it be ideas, emotions, traditions, or a blend of contemporary and traditional Thai art – every artist will get to pass on their creativity in their own way. THAIJA hopes to inspire other artists to push their limits. The message is clear, do not be afraid to try, create, and reflect to self-improve.

Chula is the place to discover one’s true individuality and the years I spent here were most enjoyable.
