Chula Wins Big at “Future Thailand: The Next Step of MHESI”

Chulalongkorn University congratulates the university’s personnel on receiving awards at the “Future Thailand: The Next Step of MHESI” event which featured a press conference of “the National Research Awards,” “Thailand Inventors’ Day” 2024, and a ceremony congratulating Thai inventors and researchers who have won international awards. The event was held on January 11, 2024, at Samyan Mitrtown Hall 1, 5th floor, Samyan Mitrtown. Ms. Soophamaad Itsaraphakdee, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation, presided over the ceremony and presented certificates to Thai inventors and researchers who have received international awards. Chulalongkorn University’s faculty members and researchers who were the recipients include:

  • Dr. Nadnudda Rodthongkum and the team from the Metallurgy and Materials Science Research Institute: “A portable blood lactate sensor for timely resuscitation of critical patients” (Silver Medal)
  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Pawana Chuesiri and the team from the Faculty of Veterinary Science: “White Rat Organs (Rattus Norvegicus) Model Made from Waste Materials in an Interactive Model for Self-Learning” (Special Award)  
  • Prof. Dr. Sanong Ekgasit and the team from the Faculty of Science: “BioCa: Bio-calcium nutrient supplement for plants” (Gold Medal), award received by Dr. Nittaya Kaewprak
  • Mr. Jeerasak Jitrojanarak and the team from the Innovation Center, Chulalongkorn University Demonstration Elementary School: “OxyRock” (Gold Medal)
  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Somchai Bunyanant and the team from the Faculty of Education: “WELL Weaver: Weaving Innovation for Well-Being and Sustainable Decoration” (Bronze Medal)

Chulalongkorn University also received other awards from agencies sponsoring national research, namely Outstanding Research by PMUA 2023 for “Development of Beef Cattle in Nan Province with a Spatial Cooperation Mechanism” (in problem-solving, economic and career opportunities) by Asst. Prof. Dvm. Dr. Winai Kaewlamun from the School of Agricultural Resources, Chulalongkorn University

  • World’s Top 2% scientists (Thailand) Award
  • University with the highest increase in the number of professors (Faculty of Political Science)
  • University with the highest increase in the number of professors (Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy
  • University with the highest increase of international accreditation (Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy)

The National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) held a press conference for the “National Research Awards” and “Thailand Inventors’ Day” 2024, which organized on February 2-6, 2024, at Hall 100-102, BITEC Bangna. The event’s presided over by Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, and the winners of the National Research Awards were granted an audience with the Princess to receive the certificates for their research.
