The Asia Research Center, Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University, organized the 4th National Academic Seminar on Korean Studies in Celebration of the Opening of the Korean Studies Center, Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University, on May 21, 2024, at CU Social Innovation Hub, Visid Prachuabmoh Building. Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, Acting President of Chulalongkorn University, gave an opening speech, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pavika Sriratanaban, Director of the Institute of Asian Studies, gave a welcoming remark. The seminar was also attended by H.E. Mr. Park Yongmin, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (ROK) to Thailand, who gave a speech.
The 4th National Academic Seminar on Korean Studies in Celebration of the Opening of the Korean Studies Center, Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University, was organized to promote understanding of Korean studies and exchange knowledge among domestic and international scholars and researchers from various disciplines. The seminar also featured presentations on research in Korean studies, which will lead to establishing academic networks and further advancing Korean studies in Thailand. Asst. Prof. Dr. Supaporn Boonrung, Director of Asia Research Center, Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University, gave a lecture on the “Overview of Korean Study Research in Thailand,” followed by research presentations sessions on “Korean Language and Culture,” “Korean Society, History, and Politics,” and “Social-Solidarity Economy.” Many lecturers, researchers, and scholars attended the event.
