On August 14, 2024, Chulalongkorn University and Huawei signed a collaboration agreement to develop technology and digital personnel through the Ignite Cloud Talent program. This collaboration focuses on developing cloud training content, organizing cloud developer competitions, and promoting the establishment of innovation centers to support startups in Thailand. The aim is to cultivate a new generation of professionals with cloud computing skills to support the rapidly growing digital transformation.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Witaya Wannasuphoprasit, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, said, “This collaboration with Huawei is a significant step in supporting Chulalongkorn University’s mission to develop Thailand’s technology. Chulalongkorn University is committed to being a leader in shaping the future of the country’s digital economy by combining the university’s expertise to enhance innovation in 5.5G technology and cloud computing, as well as cultivating a new generation of talent capable of driving Thailand’s digital future.”
This agreement emphasizes support for digital transformation and human resource development in Thailand, aiming to enhance the country’s readiness to become a leader in the digital economy within Southeast Asia. The Ignite Cloud Talent program is considered a significant step that demonstrates the commitment of Chulalongkorn University and Huawei to strengthening human resource capabilities and innovation, in order to develop Thailand towards a strong and sustainable digital future.
