A regional academic conference on “ASEAN+3 Regional Conference on Life-long Learning for Elderly” 

The College of Population Studies, Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with the Department of Older Persons under the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, and ASEAN, organized the “ASEAN+3 Regional Conference on Life-long Learning for Elderly” on September 4, 2024, at the Anoma Grand Hotel, Bangkok. The event was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, Acting President of Chulalongkorn University, who welcomed the participants. Mrs. Pornnipa Masileerungsie, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Older Persons, delivered the opening remarks. Following that, a keynote speech on “Life-Long Learning in ASEAN+3” was given by a representative from the ASEAN Secretariat. 

The ASEAN+3 Regional Conference on Life-long Learning for Elderly aimed to collect and provide academic information on lifelong learning for the elderly within the ASEAN+3 group, which includes the 10 ASEAN member states along with the People’s Republic of China, Japan, and South Korea. The conference also sought to develop and strengthen academic collaboration networks among ASEAN+3 countries and formulate policy recommendations on lifelong learning.
