Commemorative Walk-Run for His Majesty and 50th Anniversary of Chula's Environmental Research Institute 

On Sunday, September 29, 2024, at the Saraphatsat Research Building, Chulalongkorn University, the Environmental Research Institute (ERIC) at Chulalongkorn University held a commemorative walk-run event in honor of His Majesty the King, celebrating his 6-cycle birthday anniversary, as well as marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the institute. The event, titled “Together for the Next Chapters of Sustainable Environment,” was attended by Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Panthawat Sampanphanit, Director of the Environmental Research Institute for Sustainability at Chulalongkorn University, who gave a speech on the background and objectives of the event.

On this occasion, the President along with university administrators, institute officials, faculty members, staff, students, and interested participants, joined in the walk-run event, which started and ended at the Saraphatsat Research Building. At the end of the event, Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat and Associate Professor Dr. Panthawat Sampanphanit presented trophies to the winners of the competition. 

The commemorative walk-run event, held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Environmental Research Institute for Sustainability at Chulalongkorn University, titled “Together for the Next Chapters of Sustainable Environment” or “ERIC RUN TOWARDS SUSTAINABILITY 2024,” was organized to raise awareness in society about the importance of natural resources and the environment for national development, as well as to promote participation in protecting the environment for sustainability. 

The walk-run event was divided into three categories: a 10-kilometer Mini Marathon, a 5-kilometer Fun Run, and a 3-kilometer run. The event attracted a large number of faculty members, staff, students, and participants. 

Chula is the place to discover one’s true individuality and the years I spent here were most enjoyable.
