A team of Chulalongkorn University alumni has developed “Fongdoo,” an innovative effervescent handwashing foam designed to simplify handwashing while helping to reduce plastic waste. This innovative product is supported by the CU Innovation Hub.
The inspiration for “Fongdoo” stemmed from a critical observation: despite a growing trend toward refillable bags or recycled plastics, these solutions often fall short. A staggering amount of plastic packaging waste still remains, and most are contaminated with cleaning solutions, making them unrecyclable. Additionally, the cleaning industry is one of the biggest consumers of water and is among the highest contributors to wastewater, frequently laced with hazardous chemicals. To combat these pressing issues, the Chula alumni team developed a user-friendly product that mixes effortlessly with water, providing a sustainable alternative that is both effective and budget friendly.
What sets “Fongdoo” apart is its clever refill system. For those who already own a foam pump bottle, the product comes in convenient effervescent tablets. Simply add water, drop in the tablet, wait for it to dissolve, and voilà—your eco-friendly handwash is ready to use! Plus, “Fongdoo” tantalizes the senses with three delightful fruit-scented varieties: melon, peach, and grape, all food-grade safe and gentle on the skin.
With “Fongdoo”, washing your hands will become a refreshing experience that contributes to a greener planet. This innovative product redefines cleanliness while championing sustainability—one foamy wash at a time.
