Chulalongkorn University’s Department of Regional and Urban Planning at the Faculty of Architecture, in collaboration with CU D4S, is hosting the 17th International Congress of the Asian Planning Schools Association (APSA 2024) under the theme “New Era for Asian Cities.” The conference is being held from November 5-7, 2024, at the Chulalongkorn University Music Hall, Art and Culture Building, and at the Faculty of Architecture. Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, presides over the opening ceremony, and the event features keynote addresses by Prof. Anthony G.O. Yeh, Acting Dean and Chair Professor at the University of Hong Kong, and Associate Professor Dr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok.
The conference includes parallel sessions where academics, experts, and representatives from various institutions across Asia present their work and exchange ideas on urban planning and development. APSA 2024 aims to serve as a platform for showcasing advancements in urban planning and offers students and faculty the opportunity to present their work and engage in knowledge-sharing with international scholars and professionals.
The Asian Planning Schools Association (APSA) was established to foster idea exchange among urban planning academics and professionals in Asia and to support the next generation of scholars and practitioners in the field. The Faculty of Architecture at Chulalongkorn University is one of the 17 founding members of APSA and has actively participated in its initiatives. APSA’s main activity is a biennial conference that provides a forum for member institutions to present research and broadly exchange knowledge and insights in urban planning.
