Assistant Professor Dr. Vorapat Inkarojrit, Assistant to the President for Physical Affairs, Safety, and Traffic Management at Chulalongkorn University, explained the booth’s main concept, “Royal Compassion as the Breath of the People,” in honor of His Majesty the King. The design embodies the motion of wind—an unseen force—represented through fluttering fabric strips swayed by the breeze, symbolizing life under the King’s benevolence.

The booth features 10 fabric strips flowing seamlessly into the Thai numeral “10.” The front strips are pink, representing Chulalongkorn University, transitioning into off-white, yellow, and gold, symbolizing the colors associated with King Rama X’s reign.

The booth also aligns with sustainability criteria, a key aspect of the competition. The fabric, approximately 130 meters in length, is repurposed from textile production processes (upcycling). Additionally, 110 kilograms of yellow and pink thread spools were reused to create the booth’s backdrop, featuring “Chulalongkorn University” and the university’s emblem.

Inside the booth, an exhibition titled “10 Royal Contributions to Education by His Majesty the King” was curated and designed by the Chula Office of Communication Affairs.

Assistant Professor Dr. Vorapat emphasized the creative elements that set the booth apart, including the flowing fabric, patterns, and colors, particularly the prominent golden numeral “10.” These design choices commemorate the auspicious occasion of His Majesty’s 72nd birthday. Furthermore, the booth’s eco-friendly materials reflect Chulalongkorn University’s commitment to sustainability.

“We invite everyone to visit our booth at the 2024 Red Cross Fair, held from December 11 to 22. This achievement is the result of teamwork from various departments, including the Physical Systems Management Office, Chula Faculty Club, faculties, institutes, and other university units. We hope to see you at the Chulalongkorn University Red Cross Booth!” Assistant Professor Dr. Vorapat concluded with an invitation to all.

The sense of kinship and warmth found in the Chula community is priceless and a treasure worth keeping.
