Chulalongkorn University congratulates Prof. Dr. Noawanit Songkram, Deputy Dean of Graduate School and lecturer at the Department of Educational Technology and Communications, Faculty of Education, on being named National Outstanding Researcher 2025 by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT). The award is given to researchers to honor their continuous dedication to research, ethics, and recognized research work.
“My research stems from my curiosity about the challenges that education in Thailand has been facing, particularly the use of technology and innovation to create a knowledge base for learners at all levels.”
“When I started teaching, I observed that students in many places still lacked modern tools and equipment and the application of digital tools. That inspired me to conduct research in the area of educational technology and innovation to address these problems.” Prof. Dr. Naowanit Songkran remarked.
One widely recognized work is the “National Digital Learning Platform for Thailand.” The system was designed as a framework or benchmark for schools and educational institutions to develop digital platforms that fit the context of Thailand. Prof. Dr. Naowanit revealed ongoing research projects, namely:
“Success comes from determination, dedication, and support from the team and the department. In building a strong research team, I’ve adhered to the philosophy of ‘develop individuals, develop the work’ and encouraged the team to harvest their full potential,” added Prof. Dr. Naowanit.
“Any obstacles, such as coordinating between organizations and budget limitations, were solved with efficient management and large collaborative networks.”
To expand research in the international arena, Prof. Dr. Naowanit aims to expand her research in educational innovation internationally as well as create a research network in ASEAN to elevate the quality of education and generate sustainable change.
“Good research needs to start with a challenging and meaningful question. Don’t be afraid to start small, but stay committed, work continuously, and always develop yourself. Don’t forget that good research needs to benefit society and the nation,” remarked Prof. Dr. Naowanit.
