On March 24, Sasin hosted an exclusive session, Sasin Corporate Leadership Insight, featuring Paiboon Nalinthrangkurn, CEO of TISCO Securities and Director of the Federation of Thai Capital Market Organizations (FETCO). The session, Thailand’s Stock Market: Prospects for Recovery After a Lost Decade, offered a comprehensive analysis of the challenges facing Thailand’s stock market, including structural issues, economic downturns, and the lasting impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The discussion underscored the need for a long-term investment culture to drive sustainable growth.
Finance professionals, corporate leaders, industry experts, students, and alumni gathered for this unique opportunity to gain insights from a distinguished leader in Thailand’s financial sector. Mr. Paiboon highlighted key barriers to market recovery, including prolonged economic stagnation and structural inefficiencies, and stressed the urgent need for reform.
Despite these challenges, he expressed cautious optimism about the market’s potential rebound, citing attractive valuations and the possibility of increased foreign investment as key drivers of growth. He also pointed to emerging opportunities in sectors such as tourism, health and wellness, and the digital economy, which could play a crucial role in revitalizing Thailand’s economy.
We hope to see you at our next Sasin Corporate Leadership Insight, and the upcoming topic will be announced soon. This event marks the start of a quarterly series designed to foster knowledge exchange, thought leadership, and professional networking.
