First-Ever MAY DAY SIAM SQUARE: Chula Unites to Offer Free Health Checkups

Chulalongkorn University brought the hospital right into the heart of Siam Square at the “MAY DAY SIAM SQUARE” event. Doctors, nurses, professors, and students joined forces to provide free health services—covering physical, mental, and financial health—emphasizing the strategic goal of making Siam Square a shared space for everyone under the concept of “SIAM SQUARE WALKING STREET FOR ALL.” The event was held on May 1, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, presided over the opening ceremony, joined by Associate Professor Dr. Sittidaj Pongkijvorasin, Vice President for Property Management; Mr. Pattanapong Nuphan, Managing Director of Channel 7HD; along with other vice presidents, deans, healthcare partners, and Chula students. Celebrities such as Thanakorn Sribanjong (Hone), Nattapon Raiyawong (Biu), and Randapa Muntalumpa (Ploy) from TV Channel 7HD also participated.
This event was a collaboration between Chulalongkorn University, the Chula Property Management Office (PMCU) and various partners, aiming to benefit laborers including motorcycle taxi drivers, delivery riders, gardeners, street sweepers, construction workers, and housekeepers—with many activities dedicated to workers’ health.

Highlights of the Event:
- Free boxed meals and health services.
- Introduction to the “How Much Did You Visit” service app with download and usage demos.
- Educational exhibitions on labor rights and job safety.
- “Is EV Worth It?” activity to calculate savings from switching to electric motorcycles.
- Knowledge of safe food, affordable eggs, and organic milk.
- Fitness checks include blood tests and physical assessments.
- “Let Me Check You First” activity for outdoor workers to learn about health and illness prevention.
- Free cervical cancer self-screening kits and services such as breast exams, blood pressure checks, dental and eye screenings, and automated health evaluations for BMI, diabetes, and stroke risks.
- Free dental kits, color vision and clarity checks, and blood tests (CBC, lipid profile, uric acid, FBS, creatinine, and ALT).
- Cultural and health learning activities at Siamkit Building.
Mental Health:
Legal rights and duties for employers and employees. Information on migrant workers in Thailand’s economy, including fair labor practices, in collaboration with IOM/ILO at Block K.
Financial Health:
- Activities like “Rights You Deserve, Wealth You Deserve” including welfare eligibility checks, personal financial assessments, and retirement readiness evaluations via a web app.
- Skill enhancement activities, including English and AI development, CU-TEP prep guidance, and sales of CU-TEP books.
- Chinese language communication activities like “Point, Pay, Done” and “Instant Chinese” games to support trade communication.
- Continued focus on migrant labor knowledge, welfare, and fair employment practices.
- Cultural diversity learning through food activities at Block K.
Entertainment:
- Live performances by Channel 7HD actors Thanakorn Sribanjong (Hone), Nattapon Raiyawong (Biu), and Randapa Muntalumpa (Ploy).
- A karaoke stage event “Got the Mic? Gotta Join!” held at the Amphitheater of Siam Square One shopping center.

The sense of kinship and warmth found in the Chula community is priceless and a treasure worth keeping.
