Asia Forward Series #3: The Chairman of the Chulalongkorn University Council Discusses Asia’s Role in a Fragmented World 

The Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with the Program Management Unit for Area-Based Development (PMUA), invites members of the public to a special lecture under the Asia Forward Series #3 on the topic “Navigating a Fragmented World: Asia’s Role in the Changing Global Order.” 

The lecture will be delivered by Professor Dr. Surakiart Sathirathai, Chairman of the Chulalongkorn University Council, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at the Music Hall, Art and Culture Building, Chulalongkorn University.

The Asia Forward Series provides a platform for knowledge exchange and was launched to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Institute of Asian Studies. It aims to promote in-depth academic dialogue on Thailand’s relations with other Asian nations, as well as the rapidly evolving global dynamics. 

Additionally, the event will feature a panel discussion titled “Youth Participation in Rebuilding the Global Order,” focusing on empowering young people to engage in understanding their roles and the challenges within the changing global landscape. Topics include various dimensions of security — geopolitics, technology, the environment, and the economy — while encouraging the exchange of ideas on how youth can contribute to shaping the future in terms of policy, technology, and ideological values. The session highlights perspectives from the younger generation as a key driving force in creating a sustainable new global order.
