Chulalongkorn University Executives Welcome Tohoku University President to Discuss Academic Collaboration 

Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, welcomed Prof. Teiji Tominaka, M.D., President of Tohoku University, Japan, and delegates, on their visit for an academic collaboration dialogue on May 19, 2025, at Chamchuri 4 Building. Also in attendance were Chulalongkorn University’s executives and the Deans of the Faculty of Science and Faculty of Engineering. The delegates from Tohoku University then paid a visit to the Faculty of Medicine. 

This academic cooperation dialogue focused on expanding collaboration between both universities, supporting joint research, and connecting startup companies from both universities. Tohoku University has been allocated research funding from the Japanese government under the Universities for International Research Excellence (UIRE) project, being the first university in Japan to promote international research collaboration.
