Chulalongkorn University Honored by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn for Supporting Chinese Icebreaker Visit

On May 20, 2025, at the Naval Dockyard Department Club, Sattahip Naval Base, Sattahip District, Chonburi Province, Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, received a royal plaque of honor from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The award recognized Chulalongkorn University’s support in organizing the welcome ceremony for the Chinese icebreaker Xue Long 2, which visited Thailand from May 19–23, 2025, at Chuk Samet Pier, Sattahip Port Authority, Sattahip Naval Base, Chonburi. 

This event was held to honor HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on the occasion of her 70th birthday on April 2, 2025, and to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China in 2025.
