Chulalongkorn University congratulates the Halal Science Center, CU, led by Dr. Kasinee Katelakha, Assistant to the Director of the Halal Innovation Community Learning Center (HICOLEC), and the research team, namely Mrs. Firdaws Boonmalert and Ms. Suwaibah Sulong, Science Officers, on winning the Silver Medal at ITEX 2025 – The 36th International Invention, Innovation Technology Competition & Exhibition, held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia, during May 29-31, 2025. The winning innovation was the “plant-based gluten free halal egg” made from green beans, which can be consumed by vegetarians or those who are allergic to protein from eggs but enjoy food with eggs as an ingredient. The innovation garnered a lot of interest from the participants at the event. Prof. Dr. Rungsun Rerknimitr, Assistant to the President of Chulalongkorn University for Innovation Affairs, offered his congratulations to the researchers.
ITEX 2025 is an important platform for inventors, researchers, and youth from around the world to exchange knowledge, share creative ideas, and present works with potential for commercial development, while inspiring participants from all corners of the globe. This year, 900 innovations from 15 countries participated, all created to address specific issues or problems, be it public health, energy, environment, agriculture, or food industry. These innovations are also driven by STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) concepts and Artificial Intelligence (AI), which are important technologies for enhancing work quality and increasing competitiveness in the global market.
