Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with the Chaipattana Foundation, is moving forward in nurturing innovators whose mindset is not only “advanced” but also “valuable” for society. Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, signed a memorandum of understanding with Dr. Sumet Tantivejkul, Member and Secretary-General of the Chaipattana Foundation, on June 25, 2025, at the 3rd-floor meeting room of the Chaipattana Foundation Office.
This collaboration is driven by the Chulalongkorn University School of Integrated Innovation (ScII), under the leadership of Professor Dr. Suchada Sukrong, Director of ScII, working together with the Chaipattana Foundation. The project aims to promote experiential learning and the development of innovations focused on sustainably solving problems in society. It provides opportunities for the younger generation to learn through hands-on practice in real environments while also supporting the Chaipattana Foundation’s efforts to reach the wider public and foster awareness about social and environmental responsibility. This represents another significant step by Chulalongkorn University toward producing “social innovators” equipped with knowledge, creativity, and a mindset for change in order to drive Thai society toward greater sustainability.
Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Honorary President and Chairperson of the Chaipattana Foundation, graciously granted permission for the Chaipattana Foundation to collaborate with Chulalongkorn University through its School of Integrated Innovation to develop social innovation projects. These projects will support the Foundation’s operations and publicize its products, while also helping the younger generation learn about and understand the Foundation’s work based on royal initiatives. They will serve as a source of inspiration and awareness for contributing to society and the nation, in line with the royal aspirations of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, regarding well-being and quality of life for sustainable development, as well as social and environmental responsibility.
Chulalongkorn University and the Chaipattana Foundation will jointly develop and promote social innovations, community products, and services through practical, community-engaged projects, supported by the Social Innovation Lab at the School of Integrated Innovation. The lab offers academic programs designed to nurture learners to become entrepreneurs and future leaders, in line with the demands of industry and a rapidly changing society. The Foundation will support the preparation of these projects, including providing equipment and products to facilitate product and service development.
The Chulalongkorn University School of Integrated Innovation offers an international Bachelor of Arts and Science program in Integrated Innovation. Its curriculum focuses on developing students into entrepreneurs and future leaders who can meet the ever-changing needs of industry and society through hands-on learning and practical projects supervised by specialized experts. The program includes four academic concentrations: Well-being and Quality of Life, Inclusive Community and Smart City, Sustainable Development, and Applied Digital Intelligence.
