Public Lecture and Reading by Award-winning Indigenous Writer, Darrel J. McLeod

The Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with the Embassy of Canada in Bangkok, cordially invites you to attend a public lecture and reading by Canadian Governor General’s award-winning Cree writer, Darrel J. McLeod. The event will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, from 17.00 – 19.00 hrs. at the 9th floor, Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Building, Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University. Darrel holds degrees in French and literature from the University of British Columbia, a diploma in education, and has advanced training in dispute resolution.  Before retiring and pursuing a career in writing, he was a chief negotiator of land claims for the federal government and executive director of education and international affairs with the Assembly of First Nations.

Besides giving a special lecture, Darrel will read a section from Mamaskatch, and discuss some of the themes covered in the book as well as the impact his book has had on its readers to date.
