Chulalongkorn University Council Chairman Joins “Thailand Knowledge Network” Forum, Reflecting on the Role of Universities during Times of Crisis 

Professor Dr. Surakiart Sathirathai, Chairman of Chulalongkorn University Council, joined a special forum on the “Thailand Knowledge Network” show under the theme Thailand in Crisis and the Role of Universities. The show was produced by the Knowledge Network Institute of Thailand on July 15, 2025.

Prof. Dr. Surakiart Sathirathai shared his perspectives with the executive board of the Knowledge Network Institute of Thailand and the chairpersons of leading university councils regarding the role of universities as intellectual forces and key mechanisms in driving national development during times of crisis—across economic, social, environmental, and technological transitions. He emphasized the necessity for the public sector, private sector, and academic institutions to unite in order to create sustainable, systemic solutions. 

This special forum was organized as a public platform for gathering insights from academic and policy leaders at the national level, reaffirming the mission of Thai universities as a “repository of knowledge” that responds comprehensively to the country’s needs—both in academic and practical dimensions.
