Chula Partners with Top Charoen Optical to Enhance Education, Advance Research, and Support Learning 

Chulalongkorn University has partnered with Top Charoen Optical to strengthen educational quality, advance academic programs, foster staff development, and prepare students to become highly qualified, work-ready graduates. The collaboration also provides scholarship support and professional internship opportunities. 

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for academic cooperation between Chulalongkorn University and Ruam Charoen Pattana Public Company Limited (Top Charoen Optical) was signed on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Chula Narumit House. The signing ceremony was presided over by Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, and Mr. Nopasak Treerprachaisak, CEO of Ruam Charoen Pattana PCL (Top Charoen). 

Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat emphasized that the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to learning beyond the classroom. He emphasized the vital role of health—especially visual health—in education, noting that eyesight expands learning opportunities and educational horizons. With support from Top Charoen Optical in providing quality eyewear, Chula students and staff will be better equipped to reach their full learning potential. The initiative also helps reduce disparities in access to opportunities, ensuring that everyone, regardless of socioeconomic background, receives proper eye care and quality eyewear. 

Beyond vision support, the partnership extends to collaborative research across multiple fields, applying academic knowledge to innovations that enhance visual health, education, and overall quality of life. 

Mr. Nopasak Treerprachaisak stated that the goal of the collaboration is to raise educational standards, particularly in business administration, accounting, and related fields. Students will benefit from hands-on internship opportunities, gaining practical experience that prepares them for the workforce after graduation. The partnership will also contribute to curriculum development across all faculties. 

The cooperation covers study visits, internships, scholarships, research funding, and academic exchange, all aimed at continuously enhancing educational quality. Additionally, Top Charoen Optical will provide special privileges and discounts on eyewear to Chulalongkorn University students and staff, ensuring equitable access to quality vision care.
