Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with the Anti-Corruption Organization of Thailand (ACT), has officially launched “Corruption Watch—Instant Chat Whistleblower,” a brand-new digital tool that allows the public to report suspected corruption anytime, anywhere, safely and anonymously. The platform was officially unveiled during the 35th “Chula the Impact” event on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. This launch marks a significant step forward for Thai society by empowering everyone to take part in promoting transparency.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siridej Sujiva stated, “Chulalongkorn University is committed to using academic knowledge and digital innovation to help solve social problems. The development of Corruption Watch creates a new space where people can easily and safely report suspicious activities, helping us foster a culture of transparency together.”
Dr. Mana Nimitmongkol, Chairman of ACT, added, “The heart of fighting corruption lies in giving the public a safe space to file complaints. When there’s someone listening and acting on it, people are more willing to step forward. Corruption Watch makes that a reality.”
Professor Dr. Torplus Yomnak, the lead researcher, explained that the Instant Chat Whistleblower was developed from a research project funded by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT). The project involved collaboration from multiple sectors to address weaknesses in existing complaint systems. The result is a platform that’s easy to use, fast, and accessible to all, supporting message, image, or audio submissions—along with strict protections for whistleblowers.
Ms. Thitiwarada Ekbongkotkun, Director of the Monitoring Bureau, NACC, emphasized, “We are seeing new forms of corruption emerging. This platform will strengthen the NACC’s ability to verify facts and increase the efficiency of public complaint processing.”
Mr. Wichai Utsahajit, Deputy Director of the Community Organizations Development Institute, noted, “This offers the opportunity for civil society and local communities to play a greater role in tackling corruption. It helps build a culture of transparency from the grassroots of Thai society. People can trust that their voices will reach decision-makers who can take action.”
The launch event reflected strong collaboration across all sectors—universities, anti-corruption organizations, government agencies, civil society, and the media—working together to create a sustainable anti-corruption ecosystem. It underscored the message that:
“Fighting corruption is not the job of any one person—it’s the power of everyone.”
