According to Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat the “Thai Mind Awards” project is more than simply an initiative to promote mental health; it reflects the spirit of the Thai people—caring for one another with understanding and compassion as fellow citizens. This project is not only symbolic but also a collaborative effort of various organizations aiming to advance mental health knowledge and spread its benefits to society.

He emphasized that mental well-being is a state of lasting happiness, which fuels the energy to support one another and creates positive change in organizations and society. When individuals possess good mental health, they can work and live in a balanced way. A strong and resilient workforce contributes to happy families, thriving communities, and a stronger nation. Therefore, caring for mental well-being is not only an individual’s responsibility but also a shared obligation of organizations and society. Organizations with mentally healthy personnel are filled with energy, compassion, and understanding—crucial forces for driving Thailand forward.

Dr. Varoth Chotpitayasunondh added that today’s workforce faces increasing stress and pressure due to societal competition. Thus, strong organizational support systems for mental health are essential, as mental well-being cannot be managed alone. It requires collective organizational efforts—from understanding leadership and supportive colleagues to clear policies—to ensure all employees thrive emotionally. Promoting mental health in organizations is a shared responsibility of all sectors—government, academia, and private industry—to establish sustainable mental wellness systems. A sound mental state is fundamental to effective work and national development.

The Thai Mind Awards also serve as a platform to identify and honor model organizations that foster mental well-being in the workplace. The award is not just a symbol of honor but a source of inspiration for organizations to recognize the importance of creating happiness for employees—empowering the nation with resilient and fulfilled hearts.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nattasuda Taephant, Dean of the Faculty of Psychology, the present is the second year of the “Thai Mind Awards,” following the success of its inaugural year. The awards aim to recognize organizations with outstanding practices in supporting their employees’ mental well-being. However, more than competition, the project seeks to build a network of organizations that prioritize mental health in the workplace. Funded by the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth), the project is also supported by national agencies like the Department of Mental Health and expert judges in organizational psychology, ensuring that the evaluation process meets academic standards.

In the first year, more than 50 organizations applied. This year, the number is expected to grow as more organizations recognize the benefits of exchanging best practices in employee care. Participants gain not only recognition but also the opportunity to learn from exemplary organizations and adapt those strategies to enhance their own. Furthermore, the project fosters continuous development of organizational psychology knowledge and the creation of a mental well-being ecosystem in workplaces—supporting happiness for workers, who are a crucial force in the nation’s progress. A work environment that nurtures happiness becomes a powerful engine for driving sustainable growth in families, communities, and the nation.
