The Faculty of Architecture, Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with Siam Piwat Co., Ltd., Siam Piwat Academy, and business partners such as Asset World Corp Public Company Limited (AWC), Magnolia Quality Development Corporation Limited (MQDC), and Supalai Public Company Limited has officially announced the success of the “WORLD CLASS DESTINATION DEVELOPMENT” training program. Held between July 19 – August 30, 2025, the intensive 64-hour program attracted a wide interest from both public and private sectors.
The announcement marks a significant step in creating a “learning model” aimed at enhancing Thai professionals’ capabilities to meet international standards, highlighting the trust and cooperation between educational institutions and the business sector in advancing knowledge and building a highly skilled workforce. This effort supports the future development of real estate, tourism, and urban development industries.
A major highlight of the program was site visits to real-world projects that serve as exemplars of world-class destinations across different domains:
A world-class shopping destination, offering a fully integrated lifestyle experience. It served as a case study in retail space development, combining innovation, design, and space management.
A global landmark on the Chao Phraya River, ICONSIAM exemplifies sustainable urban development. It transformed the Thonburi side into a hub of economic and cultural significance by blending the best of Thailand with global excellence. It promotes co-creation and shared values among communities, partners, and society.
A prototype smart city for the future, designed around the concept of For All Well-Being. The project reintegrates nature into urban life with large green spaces and innovative designs for sustainable, multi-generational living.
A 5-star lifestyle destination by the sea in Pattaya. It showcases the fusion of modern design and local culture through architecture and space planning, representing a comprehensive hotel development model for leisure and events.
A mega mixed-use project in the heart of Bangkok that aims to raise Thailand’s urban standards to a global level. It integrates offices, shopping malls, hotels, and residences with green public spaces, combining innovation, architecture, and sustainability.
A luxury mixed-use development in Asoke-Phetchaburi, designed to blend office space, green areas, and retail. The complex stands out for its architectural design and caters to the needs of modern urban professionals, with direct MRT connectivity.
A new mixed-use landmark, integrating office buildings, residences, and public spaces, designed to support urban living and work experiences in Bangkok’s business district, close to BTS, MRT, and shopping centers.
A case study in developing a global experiential destination, allowing participants to immerse themselves in a creative and entertaining environment with life-like dinosaurs from the legendary movie series —offering a new adventure in the heart of Bangkok.
The program provided more than just academic knowledge. Through intensive workshops and real-site visits, participants were exposed to new perspectives and inspired for their future careers. This collaboration not only offered a course but also represented a major stride in enhancing Thai human capital to compete globally.
In an era where real estate, retail, and tourism industries face increasing challenges from economic shifts and technological changes, such programs help integrate knowledge from multiple sectors. They also foster a project development ecosystem, facilitating everything from architectural ideation to marketing strategies and customer experience design.
