Chula, Shinshu University Launch Joint Water Research Lab and Satellite Office 

Executives from Chulalongkorn University’s Petroleum and Petrochemical College, Faculty of Science, Aquatic Resources Research Institute, Center of Excellence on Hazardous Substance Management (HSM), and Shinshu University, Japan, jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on research collaboration and academic exchange on October 7, 2025, at the 3rd floor of the Petroleum and Petrochemical College, Chulalongkorn University. 

The MOU aims to foster researcher exchange, joint environmental research, and innovation in water management. As part of the collaboration, the Shinshu University Satellite Office and the ARG–PPC Joint Water Research Laboratory were officially launched on the 8th floor of the Petroleum and Petrochemical College—marking a significant milestone in building a global research network. 

The signing ceremony and lab inauguration were attended by: 

• Assoc. Prof. Dr. Palanee Ammaranond, Vice President for International Affairs and Global Network, Chulalongkorn University 
• Prof. Shinichi Yonekura, Vice President for International Relations, Shinshu University 
• Prof. Dr. Pramoch Rangsunvigit, Dean of the Petroleum and Petrochemical College 
• Prof. Dr. Voranop Viyakarn, Director of the Aquatic Resources Research Institute 
• Prof. Dr. Pranut Potiyaraj, Dean of the Faculty of Science 
• Dr. Mongkolchai Assawadithalerd, representative of the Center of Excellence on Hazardous Substance Management  
• Prof. Katsuya Teshima, from the Institute for Aqua Regeneration (ARG), Shinshu University 

Along with university executives, faculty, and staff, who joined as signatories and witnesses of the event.
