Life is short. Choose Fashion that Lasts 

Students from the Faculty of Science, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, and Faculty of Political Science at Chulalongkorn University jointly organized “CANVASS: Life is Short, Fashion is Sustainable,” an event combining fashion, art, and sustainability to promote the concept of Sustainable Art and inspire society to adopt environmentally responsible consumption. The event took place on November 4, 2025, at Sala Phra Kieo, with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suradech Chotiudompant, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Dr. Kumkom Pornprasit, Dean of the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, along with administrators from the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Political Science, presided over the opening ceremony. 

The event featured a talk titled “Fashion in a Changing World: Can We Be Sustainable Together?” by Prof. Dr. Patcha U-Tiswannakul, lecturer in the Department of Creative Arts, Fashion and Textile Division, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University. Other activities included a hands-on workshop, a fashion design competition under the concept of Sustainable Art that transformed old clothing into creative artworks, a sustainable fashion market, a fashion show, musical performances by Chulalongkorn student bands “Skinsons,” “Temporary Band,” and “Chesnut,” as well as booths selling food, second-hand clothing, and art. 

The sense of kinship and warmth found in the Chula community is priceless and a treasure worth keeping.
