Chula Researchers Win Three Awards at the Seoul International Invention Fair 2025 

Faculty researchers from Chulalongkorn University garnered three awards at the Seoul International Invention Fair (SIIF 2025), held from December 3–6, 2025, at the COEX Convention & Exhibition Center in Seoul, Republic of Korea. On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pannee Cheewinsiriwat, Assistant to the President for Research, congratulated the award-winning faculty members and students. The award recipients are as follows:

  1. Asst. Prof. Dr. Pawana Chuesiri, DVM, and her team from the Faculty of Veterinary Science received the Gold Prize from SIIF 2025 and the NRCT Special Award from the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) for their work titled “EcoCanine CPR Trainer.” The EcoCanine CPR Trainer is an environmentally friendly dog mannequin for CPR and intubation training, made from repurposed materials. It is designed to closely resemble a real dog, with modular internal components and a real-time feedback system that provides instant response to trainees, improving accuracy and learning efficiency compared to conventional training mannequins. The model is made from recycled and upcycled materials, can be reused, and helps reduce the use of live animals in training.

  1. Natchana Maneephruek, Asst. Prof. Dr. Intira Prompan, and their team from the Faculty of Education received the Bronze Medal for their project “Medication: Mandala Clay Creations Activities Kit to Promote Holistic Well-Being for Early Childhood.” This innovation, designed for young children, integrates art education with the principles of mandala-making to promote mindfulness, concentration, and aesthetic appreciation through creative clay art activities. The project is part of research and innovation funded by the CU Social Innovation Hub

  1. Asst. Prof. Dr. Intira Prompan and her team from the Faculty of Education received the Special Award for Innovation from King Abdulaziz University and the NRCT Honorable Mention Award for their project “Mindful Circle Mandala: Creative Mandala Art Kits for Better Living Across All Ages.” This learning innovation consists of creative art kits designed using mandala principles to improve well-being, relieve stress and anxiety, enhance human relationships, bring calmness to the mind, and foster aesthetic experiences through artistic creation. This project was also supported by the CU Social Innovation Hub.

The Seoul International Invention Fair (SIIF 2025), held from December 3–6, 2025, at COEX in Seoul, is organized by the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) and the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA) under the patronage of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA). The event is a venue for inventors and researchers from around the world to showcase new ideas and products to manufacturers, investors, licensing firms, and members of the public interested in innovation.
