Chula Students Transform Art into Award-Winning Innovations at I-New Gen Award 2026 

Chulalongkorn University congratulates the students from the Department of Art Education, Faculty of Education, who have achieved outstanding work and won awards at the Thailand New Gen Inventors Award 2026 (I-New Gen Award 2026) in the Tourism and Creative Economy category. This achievement reflects the potential of Chulalongkorn University students in integrating artistic knowledge, creating valuable innovations, and promoting tourism and cultural arts. 

The awards ceremony was held on Thailand Inventors’ Day 2026, January 9, 2026. The students who received awards are as follows: 

  • Natthaporn Benjachun First Runner-Up and a Gold Medal for the project “PlayGii: Cultural Toy Innovation to Promote Creative Learning and Tourism”, advised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Somchai Boonyanun and Dr. Preeyasri Phromjinda. 
  • Rattanachada Tiawchamroen received a Gold Medal for the project “Rubber Thai Art”, an art activity creating lifestyle products from Thai patterns on natural rubber to promote cultural tourism and the creative economy, advised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sirikoi Chutatawisawat and Asst. Prof. Dr. Yeampon Nakaramontri. 

In addition, students from the Department of Art Education, Faculty of Education, also received four Silver Medals for the following projects: 

  • Nattakamon Nakphat for “Following Art: The Treasure Puzzle of the Capital”, a board game for learning about arts and culture, advised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Intira Phrompan and Dr. Sarita Chuesrikul.
  • Chutipha Asavalertpalakorn for “Travel Thailand with Krathong”, an art learning activity promoting the value of the Loy Krathong tradition and sustainable tourism, advised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Intira Promphan. 
  • Krittanont Mankarnna, Thitirat Asadornthipkul, and Natthaporn Benjachun for “Je-ECO: Bio-fabric Jewelry from Local Waste Materials for Creative Cultural Tourism”, advised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Somchai Boonyanun and Dr. Suchart Imsamraan 
  • Sarocha Saetan, Jantana Chaiopanon, and Nutcha Charoenchanakit for “Art Toys for Creative Learning”, advised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Somchai Boonyanun and Dr. Suchart Imsamraan
