The MOU signing ceremony took place on January 9, 2026, at the Royal Park Rajapruek in Chiang Mai Province. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pantawat Sampanpanish, Director of the Sustainable Environment Research Institute, authorized by the President of Chulalongkorn University, signed the agreement together with Mr. Wirat Prapthuk, Director of the Highland Research and Development Institute. Experts, executives, and personnel from both institutions attended as witnesses.

The purpose of this academic cooperation is to promote and develop knowledge in science, technology, and innovation for the management of agricultural biomass, transforming it for use in ways appropriate to local contexts and applications. The collaboration also aims to develop personnel from both institutions in research, education, and the transfer of scientific, technological, and innovative knowledge in agricultural biomass management, as well as to promote outreach and activities related to science, technology, and innovation in this field.

This academic partnership provides a strong foundation academically, regionally, and systematically for proper and efficient management of agricultural biomass, ultimately contributing to sustainable environmental management.

Chula’s encouragement and support for research is excellent for teachers, students, and the public.
