Procedure for the screening of COVID-19 infection for students and staff members at Chulalongkorn University Health Service Center

As a consequence of the current spread of COVID-19 infection, Chulalongkorn University has devised various preventive measures against the infection within the university compound.

In this regard, the Chulalongkorn University Health Service Center has set up a procedure to screen for COVID-19 infection for Chulalongkorn students and staff members, covering both those returning from high-risk countries and those who have not taken overseas trips but are at risk of infection from various areas within Thailand.

The screening procedure has been divided into three different zones according to different levels of risk indicated by personal history and symptoms as follows:

  1. Red Zone – high-risk patients
    History of having symptoms within 14 days of returning from a trip to countries facing infection or having COVID-19 infected persons;
  2. Yellow Zone – moderate-risk patients
    History of having symptoms within 14 days as a result of close contact with COVID-19 infected persons, although have not taken any trip to countries with infection;
  3. Green Zone – low-risk and other patients
    History of having symptoms within 14 days, but have neither taken trip to countries with infection nor be in close contact with COVID-19 infected persons.

Students or staff members who fall ill with respiratory symptoms, such as fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat, or breathing difficulty, or those who have no symptoms but have reasons to be concerned of being infected with COVID-19 are advised to make an appointment for risk evaluation or for recommendations on how to conduct oneself during the current infection outbreaks.
